‘Three states of mind’

Love is a disease, of which there is no cure.
The surrender of self that two souls must endure.
A cease-fire of hostilities in a mostly friendly war.
Starting off with less and ending up with more.

Hate is a state, of which we’ve all been afflicted.
The end of masochism that we were once addicted.
A relationship stalemate that is no longer conflicted
To release pent-up anger, no longer restricted.

Apathy is the place where emotions go to die
The question no longer important of who, when or why.
The end of a relationship reached, so we no longer try.
Desire for unity destroyed so only ourselves do we rely.

Then the cycle starts over…
