‘While the heavens wept’

The brooding sky grew angry
as the clouds billowed dense.
For vague wrongs imagined
It demanded recompense.

While the heavens wept in fury
and the storm brought forth
it’s reign.
The sky kingdom cast sentence.
It’s judgement was disdain.

The deluge fell in merciless torrents
The likes of which none could recall
It fell and fell with no end in sight…
Oh, how the rain did fall.

Each and every lost soul that day
cleansed by judicial precipitation.
Great and small sins washed away
by the rain’s universal rehabilitation.
