‘Build your Armor’

If others fill you with doubt
can your mettle tough it out?
Would your frail pride survive
to stand up and shout?
Could you face critical foes?
All of these AND all of those.
Will it turn out for the best?
In truth, only time knows.
Should we oppose these fears?
Fight it back from the first year.
Mount a pre-emptive attack
until the coast is clear.
The weaknesses that we yield
supplies the power they wield.
Overcoming adversity ensures
the armor-clad ego we build.

  1. Short Scare says:

“Fight it back from the first year.
    Mount a pre-emptive attack
    until the coast is clear.”
    That was very nice.
