‘Shoveling sand’

Life is a chain of events, tied together;
linking what will become, to the past.

An illusion of choice, or uncertain future.
You may disrupt destiny, but it won’t last.

All actions connected, nothing is random;
each step decided; the process planned.

To adjust the present in a futile attempt,
to alter the result, is like shoveling sand.

* as a footnote, I’d like to point out that I don’t personally believe this, but I find the perspective interesting in those who do.

  1. Its what you make now that forms possible futures

      Agreed. I believe the future is what we make of it. There is a certain level of random variables (other people’s free will interacting and colliding with our choices) but our decisions affect our future. I can’t fathom how some people believe in predestination or fate. We are not puppets on a string. What we do is our choice. Good or bad, the fault or reward for our behavior is on us.
