‘To whence they came’

The size of one’s heart,
is a measurement of love.
How deep their grave is,
only matters from above.

The deeper the hole,
the greater the pain.
Love and death are
one and the same.

A depth of character
establishes its name.
All good deeds return
to whence they came.

Once it occupied a chest.
Now this heart can rest.
Challenged to do its best;
it failed life’s exertion test.
