‘The scales of conscience’

All people range from saint to sinner.
Some rob banks, others cook dinner.

Within the mind lies Jekyll and Hyde.
Motivated to act by courage or pride.

Altruism or lust may inspire a plan.
No one can know the heart of man.

A war between ‘selfless’ and ‘selfish’;
both fates possible in equal measure.
Our conscience is a balancing scale;
weighing for (or against) evil pleasure.

About Bo Bandy
