‘Twas the eve of the apocalypse and all through the divided nation,
the left were in their ‘safe spaces’ and the right armed ‘battle stations’.
Both sides were politically triggered about a perception of ‘loss’.
All moral high ground was trampled by the facts which they tossed.
Choosing between the lesser of two evils became the battle cry.
The election was less about ‘we the people’; and more about ‘I’.
In the end they possessed neither honor nor its essential truth.
They sold off all semblance of liberty and ransomed away the youth.
